A few years back, while coaching a Top Power Seller, breaking sales records at a minimum of $600,000 sales/mo, I asked him "How do you find products that sell?" He replied with a great attitude...."Somebody will buy from someone, might as well be me."
Although he was a high-volume Top Power Seller that chose the scale-up method, I knew his profit per listing was very small, compared to the scale-down method, building less high-ranking listings that sell at higher profits, multiple times, the method I chose to build my business.
But his reply to my question, stimulated me to start thinking out of the box
My goal was to shorten my product research time and find products selling now!
So I started using the SPIDER METHOD, researching other DropShip Seller's recently sold products. Although I found products selling now, the sifting through high-volume Top Power Sellers and New Sellers, to find recently sold products from Mid-sized sellers that ranked close to my business was more time-consuming than I liked.
Thinking out-of-the-box, I developed a method called "SPIDERING WITH A TWIST" that shorten my daily product research task. It worked and still works.
But it was still more time-consuming than I liked.
When paid for services began springing up to find recently sold products, I jumped in hoping this would speed up my product research task. Although it sped up a bit, it was at the time when eBay DropShip Sellers, massively began price undercutting each other selling to buyers who purchased only by price, giving a false notion of finding products selling now.
To me. this was like "Cutting off your nose in spite of your face" by lowering product pricing to profit $1 or $2 per sale.
Falling back to my Merchandising/Marketing education, using the theory of appealing to buyers needs and preferences, I realized finding products selling now, was right there in MY recently sold listings. So I started testing using what I called "Piggy-Back Method" to see if it worked in selling products now.
This common sense approach, not only produced higher sales/profits within the 2 month testing time, but I also found how I could piggy-back on eBay's Marketing to list similar products appealing to different buyers needs and preferences....selling now!
This simple Piggy-back Method drastically reduced product research time and increases sales/profits in knowing the products you list are selling right now!
